The button names are written in correspondence with Xbox controller layout.


Control Scheme Example: Navigation

Left and right analog sticks: Up, down, left and right navigations.

Directional pad: Up, down, left and right navigations.

Face buttons:

-A: Mostly used as the “Yes” button, similar to “enter” on keyboard.

-B: Mostly used as the “No” button, similar to “esc” on keyboard.

-X: Mostly used as a secondary button.

-Y: Mostly used as a secondary button.

Left bumper, left trigger: In menu, move left one whole category.

Right bumper, right trigger: In menu, move right one whole category.

Start, back(option): Used as “menu” button, similar to mouse’s right click on PC.

Guide(home): Return to main screen.

 

Control Scheme Example: In-game

Left analog stick: Player movement.

Right analog stick: Camera direction..

Directional pad: Sometimes linked with movement, often linked with more static in-game functions.

Face buttons:

-A: Active function used occasionally (or still as “Yes” button in static situations).

-B: Active function used occasionally (or still as “No” button in static situations).

-X: Active function used frequently and at high intensity OR active function used occasionally.

-Y: Active function used frequently and at high intensity OR active function used occasionally.

Left bumper, left trigger: Held down for static functions or as additional command keys that activate different functions for certain buttons, usually face buttons OR active functions used frequently and at high intensity.

Right bumper, right trigger: Held down for static functions or as additional command keys that activate different functions for certain buttons, usually face buttons OR active functions used frequently and at high intensity.

Start, back(option): Used as “menu” or “pause” buttons.

Guide(home): Return to main screen.
